Excursions in El Chaltén: official catalog and prices 2026/27

The tour season runs from October to mid-April. December, January, and February have the longest days and most stable weather, but also the most crowded tours and limited availability. October, November, March, and April offer fewer visitors and better prices, with more variable weather. In any month, it's advisable to come prepared for all four seasons in a single day.

Quite a lot: the main trails in Los Glaciares National Park start on foot from town and are free to access, including Laguna de los Tres, Laguna Torre, and the viewpoints. Hiring a guide adds safety, context, and interpretation of the environment, and in the case of Laguna de los Tres, it allows you to do the circuit from the Río Eléctrico without repeating any trails. Reservations are required for boat trips, ice trekking, rafting, and ranch activities.

Three days is the minimum reasonable amount of time. The weather changes quickly, and it's common to lose a day to wind or rain, so it's best to have some leeway. With three days, you can do a challenging trek, a boat trip, and a lighter activity. With two days, choose between hiking or sailing. With just one day, you can do either the trek to Laguna de los Tres or the boat trip to Viedma Glacier.

The usual access is from El Calafate, about three hours away via Route 40 and Route 23. The nearest airport is El Calafate Airport. We offer the transfer between both locations door-to-door or regular bus service with reception at destination.
