At Chaltén Tours we don't just sell excursions… We help you plan your trip.
We are a local agency in southern Patagonia, operating in El Chaltén and El Calafate. We work with authorized service providers in Los Glaciares National Park and with local tour operators, and we have firsthand knowledge of how each activity works: the actual schedules, the requirements of each trail, capacity limits, and restrictions.
El Chaltén has a unique characteristic that sets it apart from other destinations: it's a small town where the weather dictates everything, and the order in which you do things completely transforms the experience. That's why we don't just process bookings. Before you pay anything, we help you understand what works best with the number of days you have, your fitness level, and the time of year you're traveling.
What sets us apart
Local knowledge
We operate in the area and know every trail, every operator, and every logistical detail. When we tell you a hike is demanding, it's because we know what the final ascent entails.
Pre-sale advice
We prefer to recommend a more affordable excursion that suits your needs rather than selling you an expensive one you won't enjoy. We work with you on the complete itinerary, not just individual excursions.
Direct communication
You have a direct channel via WhatsApp and phone to plan your itinerary, manage reservations, and resolve any unexpected issues during your stay. In a destination where the weather can change plans, that matters.
Respect for the environment
El Chaltén is located within a National Park declared a World Heritage Site. We work with licensed operators who comply with the regulations for using the protected area and promote low-impact practices on the trails.
Both destinations resolved
We also operate in El Calafate, three hours away. If you combine both locations, we coordinate transfers and excursions with a single point of contact and a coherent itinerary.
